Wind.

Wind (my First Illustration Friday post)

Typhoons are frequent back home, and schools only decide to suspend classes whenever the weather gods declare a Signal No. 2 or 3. Oftentimes this happens when the students are in school already.

I remember having to walk home in my uniform, braving the harsh winds and at the same time trying to hold down my ankle-length skirt to stay where it should. One must haste to avoid being stranded in the streets—the howling winds could easily pluck tattered roofs off their shanties and knock down monolithic telephone poles. Staying out in the flooded streets during a typhoon is like being stuck in front of a debris-armed firing squad.

This is my first attempt at using watercolors. It's a beast to tame-- the flow of the pigment from the brush is unforgiving and hard to control. I only hope to get better in time.
