When Things Go Wrong.
Upon learning of a terrible tragedy that happened very recently, I knew I wanted to make something handmade for my friend/s who have lost so much. I did some research and have learned that red poppies symbolize grief during wartime. I figure this is the only appropriate place to start from.

My first poppies turned out wrong. I've used red watercolor to intensify the center of the flowers...but it ended up looking reddish brown. I even shuddered when I saw it dry up.

I've decided to nix the red watercolor idea. I used 'torn petals' instead.

I'm sending this tomorrow with a prayer.
